This hands-on workshop focuses on photogrammetry as a tool for digital heritage documentation, with an emphasis on monuments, headstones, and artifacts. Participants will collect photographic data in the field and learn to process it into high-resolution 3D models using Agisoft Metashape.

Workflow from image capture to 3D model using Agisoft Metashape

Each participant will complete a photogrammetry project including:
A 3D model of a historic headstone or monument and an artifact
A short digital presentation or web-ready showcase
Documentation of processing steps and metadata
Upon completion, participants will receive a formal certificate issued by the Alabama Historical Commission that can support:
Applications for CRM technician positions
Graduate school portfolios
University credit via independent study (where applicable)
